It’s back….

23/10/2014

This Sunday the clocks go back and darkness descends. It’s easy to be caught out by the changes and find you’re riding home in the gloom without your lights. That’s where our Be a Light Angel campaign comes in. We want you to help us light up London.

Those of you who have been reading this blog for a while will know this is our third year of handing out lights. We figured that seeing as it was so popular the past two years you wouldn’t mind helping us out again. We’re therefore relaunching our Light Angels campaign and asking you to help us help other people on bikes. Just ping us a quick email and we’ll send you a bunch of our handy pocket sized bike light packs to hand out. That way if you spot one of your fellow cyclists riding about with lights you can help them out.

If you cycle through Kensington and Chelsea or Hammersmith and Fulham, or know someone who does, then send an email to cycling@rbkc.gov.uk with your address, or leave a comment below, and we’ll get some lights out to you.

    Dear Sir Madam

I cycle through Chelsea every weekday
I would like to be a light angel
Sometimes some of my colleagues have no lights or run out of battery or forget their lights
Yesterday while in kings road a cyclist said he had to cycle in the dark as his snogg lights had been stolen from his bike
I d like to help and increase safety in Chelsea
    Many thanks

    Hi

It’s an excellent idea and I’d like to be a Light Angel. My home address is Offley Cottage, The Green, Letchmore Heath, Watford, WD25 8ER but I work in RBKC and have often cycled here.

    Regards

    Paul

I am happy to try to persuade those cycling in the dark without lights that it is a bad idea and hand out lights.
