The Borough’s Best Buildings on Show

This weekend is London Open House, and more importantly our Architecture Tour, the final bicycle ride we’ll be running this year. This will be the second time we’ve run the Architecture Tour, we got such great feedback from the first one we decided to run it again! There are still a couple of tickets left so you’re not too late to join us.
London Open House gives you access to over 800 very special buildings in London, and whilst you might not manage all of them, cycling really is the only way to maximise what you do manage to see. In Kensington and Chelsea there are some incredible private homes on show, as well as some spectacular churches and many of embassies based in the borough. The Netherlands Embassy might be an interesting one to visit before they head off down to Battersea and it’s turned into flats. You can search the full listing for the borough here.

Which is your favourite building in the borough? There are of course the famous landmarks like the Natural History Museum and the Michelin Building, as well as the controversial ones like Trellick Tower, and the soon to be fabulous again Commonwealth Institute.  Right next door to the start of our Architecture Tour is the Ismaili Centre, which happens to be taking part in London Open House.  Its an incredible building, with a very rich history, and definitely worth visiting this weekend if you can.  You could always pop along there before our tour, and make the most of what’s on this weekend.
