The Girls’ Bicycle Handbook

The wonderful Caz Nicklin from Cycle Chic launched her first book on Friday and it’s a fantastic read. We were lucky enough to get a sneak peak of the book and were suitably impressed. The book has loads of useful information for a new cyclist and interesting sections for the more regular cyclists among us. It is extremely thorough and pretty much covers everything you ever needed to know about cycling.

We particularly liked the practical tips in the section on maintaining your bicycle, they were really clear and accessible.
There is an excellent section on cycle safety, which recommends people take a cycle training session. We offer anyone living, studying or working in Kensington and Chelsea free cycle training, so we were especially pleased to see this section so well written. If you or anyone you know would be interested in some training, you can book here.
Caz went out and tested a whole range of bicycles and gives some useful critiques. She covers the full range from commuting bicycles to bicycles you can transport your kids around on, which is one area of bicycle purchasing that is hard to find information on.
There is a very comprehensive section on what to wear whilst cycling, including a range of weather scenarios and how to make your existing wardrobe work for cycling. That is really important for those of us who are too lazy to bother with a cycling specific outfit.
So where can you get your hands on your own copy? Order directly from Cycle Chic’s website. It would make a great present for a friend who is thinking about starting out on a bicycle, or as a beautiful addition to your coffee table collection.
