Some of you have come along to many of our group cycle rides in the past with themes based around Coffee & Cake, Film, Blue Plaque, Ghosts, Music and the recent and very popular Alice In Wonderland. And it’s that time again! At Bikeminded Towers, we’ve been working together with the rather fabulous Exquisite Folly Theatre to put together our latest themed cycling ride. But what is it?
Over the past week, we’ve put out a few clues on Facebook and Twitter to give you ideas as to what our latest themed cycle ride is going to be. We’ve had a few fun ideas for themes including Harry Potter, Halloween, ghosts and a personal favourite , a Mayan Apocalypse ride which we’d have to have on 21 December 2012! However, although some got close, none quite hit the nail on the head.
And so it gives me great pleasure to announce that our mysterious, atmospheric, themed cycle ride (with an opportunity of course for fancy dress) is going to be a wartime whodunnit called The Notting Hill Mystery!

Imagine this. October 31 1945. The war is over. The GIs that are left in London talk about the kids back home dressing up as witches and ghosts for Halloween. For the cycle mounted branch of the Notting Hill ARP (Air Raid Precautions) the ghosts of the past are very real and a war of truths is about to be fought out across their newly plotted night-watch route as an unexpected visitor refuses to leave without answers.
Your Bikeminded initiative needs YOU to take part in this October cycle ride around some of the most atmospheric parts of the borough. This Halloween murder-mystery is for experienced adult cyclists who are game for an adventure! Come dressed in your 1940s finery, make up your wartime name and occupation. You will be given identity cards, lights and a story to keep you guessing even after you have reached the end.
