Style the Cyclist: inspiration from the professionals

The launch of Style the Cyclist has got us thinking… what do the world’s most fashionable folk wear on two wheels, and do any of the professional stylists out there cycle?  Surely they must… it is after all much easier to cycle in a pair of YSL Tributes than to walk in them.

We’ve taken a look and come up with a select list of stylish folk who cycle.

Catherine Baba
Catherine originally hails from Australia but has graced Paris with her fantastic sense of style for the past 16 years.  She is well known for having worked for Chanel, Givenchy and Balmain, as well as Vogue and Dazed and Confused.  Catherine can often be seen cycling around Paris, and has some of the best cycling outfits we’ve ever seen.

Emily Schuman
Emily started a fashion blog, Cupcakes and Cashmere in 2008, and it’s now one of the most popular fashion blogs in America. She has written for Vogue and consulted for Forever 21, Juicy Couture and Estee Lauder. Last summer she made it a goal to get over her fear of cycling and she did it in fabulous style!

Carine Roitfeld
Carine reigned over French Vogue for 10 years and French Elle for 15 years before that. She is one of the most famous faces in fashion and has had a major influence over what most of us have chosen to wear in the past decade or so. Since resigning from French Vogue Carine has been freelance styling and writing a book about style. We have it on good authority that Carine can often be spotted cycling around Paris. When asked about her top 5 fashion editorials by Gentlewoman, she chose this image below, stating that “We had the model on a beautiful bicycle because I think a girl on a bike is very sexy.” We won’t argue with that!
