We are proud to announce the launch of our Cycle Shorts filmmaking competition!
Click on the video below to find out what it’s all about.
Are you interested? Well, here’s what to do.
Funny, serious. Arty or just plain spooky. Get that camera rolling.
On your mobile, or on your ARRI ALEXA. Handheld, or on tripod. Black & white, or Technicolor. Live action, or animation. Location, or studio … but perhaps not Shepperton. Your film must have references of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in some shape or form.
And it must be no more than 90 seconds. That’s all.
Upload your entry to Vimeo or YouTube, send us the link with your application form (see here). And share this link within your friends.
Judged by award-winning film director and bicycle enthusiast Richard Loncraine, all shortlisted films will be shown at an exclusive screening at the Electric Cinema on Portobello Road.
A special prize will be awarded to the People’s Choice film. The one that receives the most votes online. Win it, and you receive £500.
The winner of the Judge’s choice film will receive £1000. And your film will be screened at the Olympics Festival on Exhibition Road.
The competition deadline is Friday 15th June 2012 at 5pm.
To enter, you must be 18 or over. And the shortlisted filmmakers will be required to send their film on dvd.
Finally, before you start ringing up your chum Martin of Scorsese, study the Competition Guidelines, here.
Then lighting, camera, action!
And to help you along with your filmmaking journey, keep an eye on our daily filmmaking blog posts. We’ll have filmmaking tips and inspiration to help you create your competition entry.
Good luck!
