A week on and the weather hasn’t changed. It’s freezing! We’ve therefore searched for things worth leaving the warmth of the nest for, and a few ideas to impress your loved one with this Valentines Day…
Cecil Beaton at the V&A
In this Diamond Jubilee year, the V&A are celebrating our Queen Elizabeth II with an exhibition of her images by Cecil Beaton. Opening today, the exhibition will run until 22 April. It celebrates her life as a princess, monarch and mother. Plenty of cycle parking out the front of the V&A so perfect for a brisk ride through the arctic winds this weekend. Love and the Art of Living
For something different this Valentines Day, ride over to the Idler Academy on Westbourne Park Road, where they present a symposium on love in the company of author Roman Krznaric. Drawing on his scintillating new book, The Wonderbox, Roman will put our ideas about romantic love under the spotlight and reveal what history can teach us about becoming a good lover! A very bubbly bath
Or for those of you with a bit of cash to spare, treat your loved one to a champagne bath at the Cadogan Hotel. Perfect for soothing the muscles after a long cycle ride! With chocolate covered strawberries on the side, served by a personal butler, the tub will be filled with 122 bottles of champagne which the couples can choose to take a dip in. The menu starts with Louis de Custine Brut for £4,000, and goes all the way up to Dom Perignon Vintage for £25,000 for those who really want to impress. For more information click here.
